What this service is
Anatomy 3D is a study tool for human anatomy: a three-dimensional atlas you can consult from the web, from connected AI assistants and from the apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad. Access to the site and the apps is free and requires no registration.
Medical use
The service is for teaching and reference. It is not a medical device, it provides no diagnosis, it suggests no treatment, and it must not be used to make clinical decisions about a real person. The three-dimensional model represents a reference anatomy: an individual body may differ, and anatomical variants are the rule rather than the exception. For any question about your health, consult a physician.
Origin and licence of the anatomical data
The three-dimensional geometry comes from BodyParts3D, © The Database Center for Life Science (DBCLS), distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence. Nomenclature follows the Foundation Model of Anatomy (University of Washington). Anyone reusing the geometry must keep the attribution the original licence requires.
The editorial text in the entries is written by us according to standard anatomical terminology and is released under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0: you may reuse it citing Anatomy 3D — anatomia3d.app.
What you may do
You may consult the atlas, study with it, show it in class, embed the 3D panel in a teaching page through the /embed/… addresses, and download the glTF models under the terms of CC BY 4.0. You may connect our MCP server to the assistant of your choice.
What we ask you not to do
Do not present the service as a medical device or as a source of clinical guidance. Do not strip the data attribution. Do not hit the service with automated traffic heavy enough to degrade it for everyone else: for intensive use, write to us and we will work something out.
Apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad
The apps are licensed for personal and educational use, free of charge and with no time limit. They work entirely on the device. On first launch they download the anatomical data archive from this site; that data carries the licence stated above.
Availability and limitation of liability
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability. While we take care over the accuracy of the nomenclature and the text, we cannot guarantee it is free of errors; reports are welcome. To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for damages arising from use of the service, and in particular for decisions of a clinical nature.
